Preamble
In many ways our lives are manipulated by this culture we have lived in a since we were born.
Much of this manipulation is invisible, as it is part of our landscape of formation.
We all have been touched by a good movie! How were we moved by them?
It seems that when the sweet music increases as the story crescendos, and the actors and actresses portray
the moment well, then we feel touched, our emotions have been raised, and we cry, smile, laugh, tremble or withdraw.
This emotional manipulation we call entertainment.
This same thing happens with popular music that is sold regularly to us. It is a rite of passage in our culture
that at a certain age we begin spending money on music and movies, as we become identified with the music of our time.
This identification is sold to us as a generation, but way before that, at the very beginning of our lives, we are programed
by the chromatic scale, those twelve notes, arranged in mostly major scalies of seven notes and an occasional minor scale,
which changes the emotions that are being delivered by the music. This is our culture and we are voluntarily manipulated by it.
It gives us our sense of who we are, what we like, what moves our emotions.
The piano operates within an adjusted version of the twelve notes of the chromatic scale. That is music for us., but we
are not prisoners in this system. There are many instruments that can play many more notes than the twelve in that system,
but we are not comfortable with the dissonance of these scales of 24 or 36 notes, which are called microtonal.
We would need to learn a new way of listening which would be outside of what we are “comfortable” with, one could
say that it is an unnecessary effort.
Why do I need flexibility in my emotions? What is wrong with accepting the closed systems we grew up with and
are identified with?
Maybe nothing.
Or maybe this internal effort to change, which we feel from the Principles of Chapter 13 of “The Inner Look” and
from the experiences of the Ceremonies in “Silo’s Message”; maybe this has asked us to change, asked us from
deep inside ourselves?
So now from a lifelong reflection by me,
not quite lifelong, beginning in 1972, and exposed in 1975,
after reading and meeting Silo and the Inner Religion.
Internal Mobility
Internal mobility like internal gymnastics is the sense that one’s internal sensations are not fixed in place,
but instead can be moved by the action of the Force.
In some ways one could say that there is nothing inside ourselves that is a permanent sensation, rather
there is the possibility of internal movement. Almost as if this were a precursor of the Double. A step
towards the autonomy of the internal sensations, like they could all move and there is a kind of liberty inside
us that indicates an inner freedom.
All of this internal movement is a reflection of a new instability which appears thanks to an internal harmony which
is reflected in the growth of this instability as seen in the Fibonacci sequence of 1, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. A sequence
that moves away from repetition just as dissonance moves away from the limits of the chromatic scale and
the well tempered piano, opening this inclination towards the growth of music.
A new music, a new art, a new internal world generated by the alignment of thought. feelings, and action.
An internal alignment of liberty within, giving internal sensation an autonomy of movement. Just as this
autonomy is reflected in the mathematical expression of Pi – 3.14159265359…. How Pi is integral to
the nature of circularity in 2, 3 , and 4 dimensions, etc., and as the sphere represents the
circularity of time and space in our hearts.
